Title: TREE PLANTERS Description: Red Creek Tree Planting is now hiring 60 temporary tree planters to reforest timberlands from 10/01/10 to 05/01/11. Itinerant work in multiple worksites in Southeastern MS, Eastern LA, and Southern and Central AL. Under supervision perform manual labor to reforest timberlands. Hand plant bare-root or containerized trees using a shovel, hoe dad, dibble bar, hoe, or powered auger. Transport trees in a tree bag, select optimum planting location. Dig holes at predetermined intervals using mattock-like tool or dibble. Places seedling in hole and packs soil firmly around plant using foot and planting tool. Worker may perform only part of the planting function such as baring soil, operating auger, or tamping soil around plant. Production standard of 2000 tree seedlings planted per 8 hour day after one week of on the job training. Must lift and carry full seedling bag and planting tool, approx. weight 50 lbs. Title: Turf Specialist Description: Under direction of the Grounds and Transportation Manager, provides Bentley with in-house professional turf expertise. Assists Grounds crew in all aspects of turf maintenance care. Additional Description of Duties: Performs and schedules seasonal fertilizer and weed control on all campus turf areas. Safely performs all daily turf practices such as mowing, trimming, cleanup, edging, etc. Corrects and/or repairs existing campus irrigation systems. Performs weekly pruning on campus ornamentals.
